In Washington and Oregon winemakers are reaching hands across state borders in the quest for exceptional wines. In Oregon and Washington, three American Viticultural Areas (AVA) span the two states. Columbia Valley is one of the largest appellations in the country and, like the Columbia Gorge AVA, spills across the Columbia River which divides the two states.
