Stoney Vine is responsible for growing many highly rated wines over the years, and is committed to sustainably farming the best grapes for our clients as well as our own Estate programs.
Stoney Vine Vineyard was established in 2007 in the heart of the Rocks District. It is planted mostly to Syrah, with a small amount of Mourvèdre and Tempranillo. It provides Estate fruit for both Sleight of Hand Cellars and Dusted Valley Winery.
We also sell fruit to several high-end clients wishing to produce world class wines from this AVA. Within the vineyard, several different trellising methods are established including goblet, VSP (vertical shoot positioning), and the fan.
Each block uses 7X4 vine spacing which equals 1555 plants per acre. Each training system creates its own unique complexities in the fruit, and it’s up to the winemakers to interpret that as they see best!
