MILTON-FREEWATER, Ore., (Aug. 19, 2025) – Passion for world-class wine and deep commitment to community came together in a powerful way at the inaugural Basalt Bash Barrel Auction. Hosted by the Rocks District Winegrowers, the event raised $230,678, with $75,000 dedicated to expanded mental and behavioral health services for students in the Milton-Freewater Unified School District.
"This incredible donation will accelerate the delivery of local mental health services -- and not a moment too soon," said Aaron Duff, Superintendent of the Milton-Freewater School District. "The Basalt Bash has galvanized this community and touched an emotional chord within Milton-Freewater. We are excited about this becoming an annual event that celebrates both the Rocks District and our community, while providing long-term resources for student mental health."
